Even though the AllGo Mastercard is accepted at millions of instore and online retailers, there are some places where the card cannot be spent.
Retailers who Don’t Accept AllGo Mastercard
In Ireland, there only retailers that we are aware of that don’t accept the AllGo Mastercard Gift Card are-
- Three Ireland Stores
- Vodafone Ireland Stores
- Circle K
- Applegreen
For Power City and EZ Living, they process instore payments through their ecommerce site so you must have 3D Secure enabled on your card to facilitate this.
In addition, Some business have their payment systems configured as a recurring payments, even if the transaction is a once-off. These types of transactions are blocked (see “Transactions Types that are Blocked” below). Examples include online travel agents such as Loveholidays.ie and Key Camp Holidays though you can pay for airline tickets on websites such as Ryanair.com and AerLingus.com
Cult Beauty, Lookfantastic.com and MyProtein are examples of other online retailers who classify their payments as ‘recurring’ and will therefore fail.
Transactions Types that are Blocked from accepting AllGo Mastercard
For security and fraud reasons, some types of transactions are blocked from accepting pre-paid gift cards –
- Charity donations
- Money transfer or withdrawal e.g. PayPal, Credit Union, Revolut, ATM withdrawal etc as these would contravene the Small Benefit Scheme rules.
- Subscriptions or Recurring Payments e.g. Netflix, Spotify, Electricity Bills cannot be facilitated as there is a finite balance on the AllGo Mastercard, but most subscriptions have an infinite renewal. This also affects some retailers (see above)
- Gambling transactions.
- Investing in stocks, cyptocurrency etc.
